The first one arrived with a damaged connector due to problematic packaging design, so be sure to check for that. The second one arrived intact, and no problems with the exchange/return. I was able to install the new part without having to remove the rod that protrudes from the transfer case, making the process much simpler. You can remove the rod from the new unit by removing the small triangular cover, extracting the small gear with a pair of pliers, then pulling the rod out of the new part. By performing the same steps, you can pull the failed unit off of the vehicle, leaving the rod in the transfer case. Then just slide the new part onto the old rod, reinstall the little gear and the cover, and voila! part replaced with no opening of the transfer case and all that entails. It was a snap, and worked like a charm. That was only a month ago, so I can’t comment on the longevity of the part, but so far, so good. [...]
