We have some older standard toilets in our home and one plastic handle bar snapped recently. This worked great to fix it. It includes a rubber washer to seal the handle hole, which the old one didn’t have. It’s above the water line anyway, but extra sealing is nice to have. Installation was super easy and I was able to replace it without any tools. The white washer holding the handle in place threads the opposite of normal, to prevent it coming off during normal flushing. Just unscrew that and remove the old handle, then do the opposite with the new one and attach the flapper chain hook to one of the three holes in the brass bar. You may need to loosen and tighten the screw a little to get the handle positioned the way you want. That’s all it takes, maybe 5 minutes total. The handle has a 45° range of motion which is great for standard toilets.In the product pictures they show the handle on the side of the tank. Ours was in the standard position on the left side of the front of the toilet. It works great in our case, but I’m not sure it would work on the side of the toilet as the bar would need to be bent at the very least. Maybe that could work but I’m not sure how bendable it is and there aren’t any further instructions in the zipper bag these came in, just what’s on the product page on amazon.This handle is plastic with a chrome finish and is decent quality for the price and now I have plenty of spares even after I replace all the toilet handles in my home. There was a little plastic bit sticking out from the base of the handle that can be easily removed with a razor blade. Regardless of that, the finish looks nice and matches the chrome faucet on our sink.
